According to an article in Hokkaido Shinbun, a local newspaper, a huge lacquer lion head which is used for traditional Japanese lion dance is coming from Kagawa prefecture in Shikoku island. The size of the head is 3 x 3.1 x 1.8 meters. Including the cloth body, it is 50 meters long. It is said that 50 people are needed to move the lion head and body.
It is for 50th year anniversary of the beginnig of Nanae town. I'd love to see the lion dance. The performance is held three times on October 28th.
