when you stroll around the west area of Hakodate, how about taking soba, or buckwheat noodle lunch at this restaurant?
You can find this buckwheat noodle restaurant near tram stops, Hakodate Dock Mae（函館どっく前）, or Oomachi（大町）. If you get on a tram from Hakodate Ekimae or Jujigai and get off the tram at Oomachi, walk in the same direction that the tram goes away. Soon you will see a convenience store, Seven Eleven on your right. Then you will find the restaurant on your left. A character "越" in a circle is a good sign to identify.
A friend of mine told me that noodle there was good, but above all, I was surprised at the volume.
Nearby dish is Morisoba and costs 420yen and the other is Oomori-soba, 530yen. Pricing is very purse-friendly and I like it so much! There are four tables that allow four guests seating together and a narrow counter and tatami floor space. But the space is limitted and only a couple of two people tables is.
Besides buckwheat noodle, they offer several combination meals called "Teishoku". They have no English menu, so it's recommendable to go with a little knowledge of Japanese.
The photo below is Oomori-soba. or large portion of buckwheat noodle. It is eaten after being dipped in black sauce.
Akiko lives in a city next to Hakodate and loves to drive around Hakodate and surrounding area. I hope people who visit or live in the Southwest area of Hokkaido come to love the area, too. 函館の隣町在住で道南エリアのドライブ大好きAkikoです。道南を訪れたり、住んでいる人が土地を好きになってくれたらなぁ、と思います。
