Ramen is surely one of the top three Japanese' favorite foods. It is a dish of noodle served in a hot broth. Flavor of a broth varies accoding to the area where ramen is served. For example, a soy sauce flavored broth ramen is served in Tokyo and a pork bone broth in Kyushu.
And in Hakodate a salt flavored broth ramen, Shio ramen is its specialty.
I'd like to introduce a long standing ramen shop here. It is 5 minute walk from Jujigai tram stop and there is a Suehiro-cho Coop across the street. It's Rairaiken since 1935.
One portion costs 500 yen and features its transparent broth.
Akiko lives in a city next to Hakodate and loves to drive around Hakodate and surrounding area. I hope people who visit or live in the Southwest area of Hokkaido come to love the area, too. 函館の隣町在住で道南エリアのドライブ大好きAkikoです。道南を訪れたり、住んでいる人が土地を好きになってくれたらなぁ、と思います。
