Today, I went to Mt. Hakodate to see spring flowers. I could find many spring flowers there while enjoying birds' twitter. Here are photos I took along the Miyanomori course, one of the mountain trails that is at the back of the Hakodate Hachimangu Shrine.
Blue flowers are Ezo-engosaku and yellows are Kibanano-amana. Both are edible. I don't know the name of White flowers.
The above is Enreisou. In Mt. Hakodate, you can find two kinds.
The flower in the above photo doesn't have calyxes, but the below has. The photo below is kojima-enreisou.
Once you know the names of flowers, it will be much pleasant to hike in the mountain. How about go hiking to Mt. Hakodate on warm spring days? You can find the following flowers and more. Violet
Akiko lives in a city next to Hakodate and loves to drive around Hakodate and surrounding area. I hope people who visit or live in the Southwest area of Hokkaido come to love the area, too. 函館の隣町在住で道南エリアのドライブ大好きAkikoです。道南を訪れたり、住んでいる人が土地を好きになってくれたらなぁ、と思います。
