You can enjoy Japanese garden while taking a bath. There is no outdoor bath, but there are a jucuzzi, a low temperature bathtub, a 39 degrees bathtub, and sauna room and cold water bathtub. (This information is about women's bathroom.)
This public hot-spring bath house is located by Haraki River and I could find many fish in it. Next to the bathhouse, there is a paid camping area.
In front of the bathhouse building, there is a wooden boat which was used to reenact how people of Jomon period(from about B.C. 30,000 to 300 A.D. in general) crossed the Tsugaru Straits.
Akiko lives in a city next to Hakodate and loves to drive around Hakodate and surrounding area. I hope people who visit or live in the Southwest area of Hokkaido come to love the area, too. 函館の隣町在住で道南エリアのドライブ大好きAkikoです。道南を訪れたり、住んでいる人が土地を好きになってくれたらなぁ、と思います。
