As you can see on the photo below, I enjoyed yuzu* taste ciffon cake offered with a piece of jelly, some fruits, and fresh cream.
*Yuzu is a kind of citrus fruit, often used for Japanese dishes.
You can choose a piece of cake from about 10 different flavors. A cake set served with a drink, I ordered tea, costs 680yen. They serve other meals such as pasta or doria, I visited there later and ordered past plate. It was also delicious.
The owner says that their cake is available at a cafe in the central municipal library.
The interior of the cafe is very lovely. This photo is a dish my friend ordered. It's a cheese toast set that costed 580yen.
The location of this cafe is in Horikawa-cho. If you go along car-street road from Goryokaku to Mt. Hakodate direction, you can find King store on your left. Turn left and you can find the shop on your right. They menu is written in Japanese and I recommend to go there with some Japanese speakers.
Its estimate age is 500 and its height is about 40 meters. You have to walk about 20 minutes to reach the trees from a parking lot. I was scared because my husband told me that this time, when bears were searching for food before hibernation, was dangerous. There were bells, which must have had a role of alarm to bears and we range them each time we passed them.
At the foot of the trees, there was a small altar and we prayed together wishing our knot was fastened stronger.
